GIF School 2023: Effective theory for particle physics
The IN2P3 particle physics school is the Institute's oldest thematic school. This year, the school organised jointly by the LAPP and LAPTh in Annecy will focus on effective theories for particle physics. It will be held this year from 18 to 22 September at the LAPP and LAPTh in Annecy.
The course will cover the state of the art in the interpretation of LHC results in the context of effective field theories. It will also focus on longer-term prospects, such as the LHC Run3, the HL-LHC and the Higgs factory, while providing precise tools for conducting such studies. In addition, other areas of application of effective field theories, such as the search for dark matter, will also be addressed.
The School is open to French-speaking students and is free of charge for CNRS staff. It is aimed primarily at experimentalists. Because of its pedagogical approach, it is particularly aimed at young PhD students. It is not, however, a post-doctoral school, its objective being to deal with the theme of the session right down to its most delicate and current developments.
It is therefore open to any researcher, experimenter or theoretician, interested in the theme of the session.
